Raised on Songs and Stories...

Haven't updated in awhile, I've just been really busy... but I found the time tonight. Well, I made time. The AP Chem lab can wait until later.

College stuff to do later tonight, and then a few more letters to write, then homework if I feel like it - I think I only have Chem. Speaking of Chem, the test this morning sucked; definitely not as easy as I'd expected. And all multiple choice, = no partial credit. Molecular geometry would burn in Hell, if such a place were to exist.

I've decided I don't like people anymore. I mean, there are people in my life that are some of the most amazing human beings I've ever met, and I love so many of them, but at the same time, I detest the bloodless abstraction "people" because so many of them are just... idiots. Some people are complaining about the Buddhist monks making a sand mandala in the main hall of the school. You know what? They're not hurting you. They're not preaching their religion. They're not in the way. They're doing this because they were invited and because it fits in with the "tolerance" theme that NESA has been pushing recently, mostly with The Laramie Project. I've had it with people being disrespectful to the monks and to the mandala, or complaining about the fact that it's religious art (they're going to destroy it after they make it, in accordance with Buddhist philosophy of the impermanence of all things; it's not like it's going to be a permanent fixture in the school), and being generally stupid. Some people at NHS need to grow up... and I'm sure none of you want to read my ranting and raving, since if you're reading this you're obviously not the sort of person I'm angry with, but I need someplace to vent.

Personally, I like the monks. Mrs. Rourke said our class could adopt a monk (our class can pay the monastery $20.00 a month to sponsor one). I want to sponsor a "Little Monk"... the fact that it said "Little Monk" on the sponsor form made my day. : )

And now, since I must continue my college work/letter writing/homework/everything else, I leave you with... a survey.
