I just wanted to say that I'm okay out here in Aus, thank you everyone who asked. :) I hadn't realised that the problems we were having over here had been broadcast overseas so much. Though I suppose I shouldn't be suprised, it's pretty dire ( Read more... )

i'm glad to hear that you're fine ^^; my dad was telling me about all the deaths over there and it's pretty scary :\

It is scary, and so sad. I can't believe people set these fires deliberately. There is something very very very wrong with someone who does something like that... and it's not like people in Aus don't know the damage that fires can wreck.

< lj user="fi_chan"> is from Aussie too! she said she is ok. Its not gonna affect her but she can smell the fire. I think she is in south wales. Its so sad to hear about this. US had the same problem a few months ago. I heard they caught the man responsible from what she was telling me. We don't really talk much, but glad to hear a fellow lj-er is safe.

She's in New South Wales? I'm there too, but too far away from Victoria (where the fires are) to see/smell any smoke. I'm glad she's okay. I hope all of the people in Melbourne are okay.

Reading the newspaper or watching TV is so depressing. The images are even worse, of the aftermath of the fires. So many people have lost so much... and it's going to take so very long to recover from just a few days of devastation.

Thanks hun. ♥ I don't think we're in any danger at the moment, we've luckily gotten a nice balance between the flooding and fires, but the weather here has been so unpredictable and changable, it's rather scary. We're not near the blazes though, which is one thing. I remember ten years ago there was a massive blaze near us, which reached only a few streets away from us... that was so scary. >_
