There were three explosions in Varanasi last night, in a temple to Lord Hanauman. 15 people died. Varanasi is the "seat" of the Hindu religion. The holiest Hindu place in India. Tuesday nights the temple is filled with devotees, and taking that into account, it seems that it was a deliberate attack by terrorists. Specifically why or who, nobody knows or is saying yet.
I had been planning a trip to Varanasi. It's now on hold, and if I get to go before I leave, I'll count myself lucky.
Major cities in India, Delhi, Mumbai, are on high alert. But I seriously doubt I'm in any danger, I'm nowhere near, nor do I plan on visiting, high profile areas in the Capital. I work near the slums, not near the parliament buildings.
Anyway, just wanted to let you all know I'm okay in case you heard anything about bombs and India. Then again, most of you do live in the wells bubble, so....
