Man = Monkey?

Yesterday I was introduced to a seemingly simple, yet effective plan that I guess women have been using for a while (but I can guarantee, not all of them).

One of the co-workers mentioned exactly what it takes to get a man trained. I took none of this as offending or anything as it was both too funny to hear it, and too true.

She is from Pakistan and has been over in this country for a while, but was telling us of how the monkeys that you see preforming take about 2 years to be trained. She said that you have to know when to give it treats, how to make it happy, and how to avoid the stuff that makes it unhappy...for about 2 years. After that point, the monkey is trained to do whatever you ask it to because you make it happy and it wants to keep that way. She said that men are the same way...which for me, is an interesting statement.

The co-worker (remaining nameless) continued to say that if you are seeing a guy, that you do what makes him happy for 2 years and he will be trained to the point where you basically have complete control over the relationship. This could easily be mistaken for an ego thing or even a superiority thing...but it's not. She explained that because the man is happy, he will try to maintain it by making the woman happy. I won't go into the particulars and I trust you that it was both hilarious and very informative at the time...this is more of a coles notes of it.

Apparently it's the best way to keep a guy happy and the woman maintain control over the situation for the long-term. Mind you things don't go to crap in 2 years, but after the 2 years the guy will be trained and things will tend to go smoothly for everyone. The woman is happy because she gets what she wants, and the guy is happy because he is getting what he wants...it's scarily simple, yet it is easy to see how it might be misconstrued for the woman being complacent and being thought less of - when really it's the woman pulling the strings.

There's a lot more too it, but that was the general idea...was a very interesting coffee break to be sure.

On a different note, the camera is finally here and is great. Lots of pictures of Silver being hilarious since I've yet to get out into the wide open because of Mass Effect :P

Still single and looking...yet I will refrain from commenting on the particulars or developments of that in any way.

coffee, single, mass effect, camera
