the rant on man of the year is as fallows:
man of the year is a really good movie. there's a nice build up of tension and a decent twist, the problem is the ending. It's kind of a let down; they go through the all the trouble of building up the story and then give it a cute ending, it just doesn't fit. It really seems like of those movies where the writer wrote himself into a corner from which he had no way of writing the perfect ending to match what the audience has seen so far, which is a shame because the rest of the movie is pretty good. Its funny, and kind of light at times, but it's not just dumb humor, it has a point and story, and then all at once the story comes to a pretty, happy ending, which was done to fast and with too much emphasis on the fact that its a happy ending. It really puts a blunt end to the point the movie was leading toward. go see it anyway though, with the exception of the last 15 minutes or so the movie is really good.
