Cities are such big places -- the world is such a big place -- and yet we still get news reports like "Plantation man cuts off hand while mowing lawn." I'd understand if the report said, "Man contracts avian flu," or "Man successfully undergoes brain transplant," but really, it has no effect on the public, it's not someone's great achievement; what's the point of telling the world that a man cut his hand off on a lawnmower? Besides sensationalism, I mean. Oh, right, nothing. Cheers to the easily-bought public.
