OK, I've had it. I don't want to be a Philly fan anymore. I love my sports teams, all of them, but our fans are the biggest pieces of shit ever. They can be the best fans ever, but if you're doing poorly, even for one game, expect to see their backs turned, bad mouthing you at the drop of a hat.
This is what bothers me. I don't know why, but McNabb is always at the brunt of racial discrimination. Rush Limbaugh, that fucking moron, was bad mouthing him. Now the new one, the NAACP has turned their back on their own man? In case you haven't heard, the Philadelphia chapter NAACP president J. Whyatt Mondesire turned his back on him. He wrote that McNabb’s tendency to run the ball early in his career "not only confused defenses, it also thrilled Eagles fans," and that abandoning that element "by claiming that ’everybody expects black quarterbacks to scramble’ not only amounts to a breach of faith but also belittles the real struggles of black athletes who’ve had to overcome real racial stereotypcasting in addition to downright segregation." McNabb responded with, "I always thought the NAACP supported African Americans and didn’t talk bad about them."
Ok... so this moron is saying that McNabb is not following the stereotype of black athletes. The stereotype that they should run the ball, because they can... run? What the hell is that? I thought that one of the big things the NAACP was trying to do was break DOWN stereotypes. I don't know... I just know that this douche bag has no idea what football is about and to bring race into the mix is just stupid. McNabb is one of the classiest players in the NFL. He's an amazing quarterback, a great leader, and a real team player.
It is true that McNabb wasn't running much this season, but how do you expect a player to run as much as he used to when he plays more than half his games of the seasons with a sport hernia? I think it was McNabb's little cover up. But either way, the NAACP just looks dumb now.
And another part that pissed me off about this stupid article was that the Mondesire said he wasn't a good leader off the field during the whole Terrell Owens contract ordeal. He mentioned that McNabb is making tons of money and that, to shut TO up, McNabb should give TO part of his salary bonus. If that's not the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard, I don't know what is. Ok think about this, "Hey TO, you bad mouthed me and my family, have some of my money! Just take my paycheck. I know you're making millions yourself, but you deserve this." That guy better have been fucking kidding. If he really believes that, maybe he should take some of his money, and give it away to someone non-deserving. I'm not saying TO isn't a great player, but to offer someone your OWN money is just a fucking stupid idea. Mondesire, go hand your money to , I don't know, Donald Trump, he's rich, not not quite rich enough.
