Issues of the Working Class

Sep 18, 2008 02:19

Hey there, everyone:

Sorry if I've been behind in my flist commenting and blog posting. I got a new job (yay)! It's a ball -- I'm doing voter registration and advocating for Obama. It's fun -- I get to make a nuissance of myself for my beliefs, feel like I'm making a difference, and get out into the sunshine and nice air for hours every day.

The downside is that, like with all new jobs, I'm working on re-adjusting to a new schedule. So I might be a bit spotty in my posting and updating for the rest of the week, until I slip into the routine of things.

The other downside is how swiftly my skin burns. I'd thought about applying sunscreen today (the first truly sunny day since I started), but I was running late and didn't bother. By the end of the day my face was so burnt it was peeling -- argh, it's painful. I'm glad I don't work tomorrow, so I can try to get the burning and dead skin under control (I feel like a zombie with it -- heehee, 'Zombies for Change!').

When I get a chance I'll share some of the interesting stories from people. Me and my canvassing partner (another lesbian, I found out by chance) kept running into teh crazies -- it was hillarious.

Anywho, thought I'd let you all know what's going on with me, and why I've been so MIA for the past few days. ^^
