Summer Graves -- Soundtrack Meme

May 21, 2008 19:27

Well, the summerwrite unofficial soundtrack meme got me pretty geeked, so I thought I would share the answers to it here. I hope to eventually toss this up on my website. Maybe after dinner. ^^;;

Firstly, what is the working title of your summerwrite novel? Well that’s just swell, is there one (or two, or three) song/s that you think defines or encompasses your entire piece of work?

Summer Graves is its working title, and I think "Snakes on a Plane (Bring It" by Cobra Starship (ft. a few others) really fits the mood.

Is there a certain song that represents your main protagonist?

Catori No-Name -- "Same Blood" by The Academy Is... or "That Green Gentleman" by Panic at the Disco
Ezhno Dumas -- "Criminal" by Fiona Apple

How about the main antagonist or conflict in your novel?

Right now I've used "Howling" by Tomayasu Hotei. It might change as the plot develops, or it might not.

Well that’s all well and good, but we know that one of the most important parts of a novel is you, the author! What’s your all time favorite song?

"London Beckoned Songs About Money Written By Machines" by Panic At the Disco. For now.

What’s your favorite section of your novel so far? Is there a certain song that helped you get it down on paper (or word processor)?

I think I really enjoyed doing the goblin attack scenes, and I used "Howling" for it (I think I mentioned the song as my conflict song).

Does your protagonist have a love interest? What’s the couple’s love song?

I was considering a few, but whenever I hear the David Cook version of "Always Be My Baby," my heart breaks for them. So I'll pick that one.

Is a song that no matter where you are, puts you in the mood to write?

"Molasses" by The Hush Sound has really been pumping me up lately. Huzzah!

If your protagonist had one perfect day, what would its song be?

"Shine" by Imogen Heap. Unfortunately, I can't find a youtube vid for this one. Sorry!

Does your novel have a happy or sad ending? Give us your best happy, or sad, song.

A tragic ending, that's happy in its own way (or at least, that's how I'm seeing it now -- who knows how it'll really end). I think the best fit is "All We Know" by Paramore.

And finally, what is your ultimate song for summer 2008?

Since in Michigan we're still in the lower 50's, I don't want to pick something for summer. But currently I'm in love with "Guilty Pleasure" by Cobra Starship.

Don't forget, there's a new chapter being posted tomorrow. ^^
