Hey there, guys:
Well, I downloaded the newest Panic at the Disco single, and I had a mixed reaction. First of -- WTF happened to the exclaimation point in their name?!
Now that that's out of the way: One of things I loved about Panic was their unabashedly wonky style. Well, I take that back -- they were vaguelly embarassed (I remember reading somewhere that they were surprised/embarassed that the CD was as big as it was). But I loved the background club-esque beat to it, and I loved their social commentary lyrics.
But this new single -- well, yes, the band sounds like they've matured. But since I enjoyed their initial style (and was terrified they would go the way of the Killers when it came to losing that sound) I'm a bit weary about where that newfound maturity will lead them.
With only one song to currently judge by, I'm able to see glimmers of their old style, and know that it'll grow on me. I'm just hoping that I won't have to look at their entire album as something that'll grow on me, instead of something I'll instantly love.
Especially since they were one of my biggest Larkenia inspirations. ^^;;
