My Current (Hopefully Stress-Free) To-Do List:
- Make a post about how disability affects my life.
- Post those darn elopement pictures.
- Write something, anything.
- Finish my mix for the Star Trek Big Bang.
- Clean house for the reception this weekend.
- Bake cake for reception, and make other dishes.
- Have the friggin' reception.
- Read that post about how woman shouldn't write Sci-Fi.
- Find a way to do all of that stuff without flooding my flist or having a panic attack. (Related question to my flist: how many posts per day do you guys consider spamming the flist?)
And now, onto a meme. I was tagged for this by
monkiainen.
Firstly: People who have been tagged must write their answers on their blog and replace any question that they dislike with a new, original question.
Secondly: Tag eight people. Don't refuse to do that. Don't tag who tagged you.
1. Make a list of 5 things you can see:
Well, I'm in my typically cluttered study/studio, so there's a large assortment of odd things lying around.
- A Christian proselytizing tract that we found in the book section at my local supermarket, titled "
Bad Bob." It led to arguments with random strangers at the store, so we kept it for the humor.
- Our laminator.
- A gnome statue.
- A stuffed Axel doll, from KH II.
- A flashlight.
2. Would you ever get plastic surgery?
Well, that's a loaded question. First, plastic surgery costs a hell of a lot of money, and I'm uninsured (and frankly, under current insurance methods, uninsurable). Second, some common medical procedures can be considered plastic surgery -- my wife recently had a mole removed, because the doctor was concerned it was cancerous. If it had ended up that it wasn't cancer, she would've had to pay for it out of pocket, because it would've been considered plastic surgery. ((It was cancer, but they managed to remove it in a separate procedure.))
Perhaps I would get plastic surgery -- I've occasionally played with thoughts of affording a breast reduction, in the most arbitrary of ways -- but it's doubtful that I would get it for the stereotyped reasons.
3. Is there anything in your fridge right now that you would never eat/drink?
Yeah. I'm the only vegan in a house with a vegetarian and an omnivore. There's eggs, dairy products, and meat in our fridge that I won't eat/drink. I suppose when I'm hospitalized I might not get a choice, so I might eat some of those things (dairy or eggs, out of necessity), but I will never touch the dead animals. Period.
4. What's your occupation?
I'm unemployed, currently seeking disability benefits from the government.
5. Do you nap a lot?
My new medicine is killer in terms of grogginess, so yeah, I nap a lot.
6. What was your first celebrity crush?
I had a huge thing for Michael Jackson when I was young.
7. What's your current fandom/obsession/addiction?
Star Trek, Harry Potter, and original fiction. ^^
8. What are you listening to right now?
The Early Today Show. Yeah, that thing never fucking ends.
9. What was the last text message you received?
I don't text. I can't afford it.
10. What's your favorite song?
ATM it's "Brick By Boring Brick" by Paramore.
11. What was the last thing you bought?
Turnips. Man those were good. I hadn't had any since becoming an adult, and I hadn't realized how great they are. They're cute looking, and taste friggin' epic. ^^
12. Radiohead, Muse or Interpol? Choose one.
I don't regularly listen to any of them, but I currently kind-of dig "I Belong To You (New Moon Remix)" by Muse.
13. Does the weather affect your mood?
Yep, definitely.
14. What is your zodiac sign?
Aries all the way, baby!
15. Name your favourite zoo!?
Vegan, guys. I don't enjoy zoos, and have very complicated feelings about them.
16. Weird dream?
All of mine? No, seriously, my new medicine gives me really vivid dreams (and I've always had decently vivid and regular dreams). Last night I dreamed about going to get a pizza with my sister, after giving up a job to my half-brother (who was played by a teenage friend/crush). I was annoyed that the texting app wasn't working for me.
17. What's a book you think everyone should read?
There are so many great books on activism I think everyone should read...and yet my choice is an omnibus of the Harry Potter series (yeah, if that were ever to exist, it would be huge, lols).
18. IM or Text Message?
IM. But I'd prefer e-mail from almost everyone (my wife excluded), since I have social anxiety (as well as GAD) and that delay can really help.
19. What are your plans for next weekend?
My wedding reception.
20. Say something to the person who tagged you:
Woot! Thanks for tagging (I never get tagged in these things) and how're you doing today? LOLs.
