I have no idea what it is for but hey it's a lamp with some kind of magnification lens on it. It smells like an old science laboratory, maybe biology or chemistry. The bottom has a sticker that says "Deluxe Sales Co. Distributor - Dallas, TX" in ancient script like 1960's or maybe 1970's. It might even be 1950's. The plug is not grounded and the prongs look old so I'm not keeping this puppy plugged in if I'm not using it. It uses 12V lightbulbs. @_@; wow.
