Asch fon Fabre had never been particularly fond of school. While he was much better at some aspects of it than his arrogant idiot of a twin, he had never been able to excel at math. He could conquer any other subject with ease, as he had wanted so badly to become an important figurehead later in life, but his inadequacy at math was holding him back.
He scowled at the thought of it. If anything, his failure brought him that much closer to his incompetent twin.
Professor Grants had reached out to him, however. The man had always been a hero to Asch, as well as a sometimes overly-thoughtful mentor. Professor Grants had offered him one of his older, better students, Guy Cecil, as a tutor. Asch was reluctant to take help from anyone, but the professor had reassured him. Guy was supposed to be one of the nicest and most helpful students in the school, if that counted for anything.
Asch had come to Professor Grants' classroom after school. The professor had left his teaching materials there for the two of them to use, then promptly ushered himself off to a teacher meeting. Asch remained in the classroom, fumbling with his cell phone and waiting apprehensively for his new tutor.
