It was surprisingly warm weather in Daath. The mountains had held back the rains, and it was a bright, sunny day out. Regardless of the unusual heat, Asch had decided to practice. Returning from a mission was always something of an adventure. The Special Operatives were constantly on the move, taking care of the jobs that no one else either wanted or had the skills to deal with. With Asch at the forefront, directing the soldiers and choosing whatever one was the most appropriate for the mission, Guy was starting to get suspicious that something was up. Asch hadn't really said as much, but Guy was too well in tune with the redhead's mannerisms by now to be fooled. And Asch probably knew - which could explain why he'd been sent off on a mission that was estimated to take a while.

Then again he could be way off, and Van might have been the one pulling the strings. Either way, he'd managed to return early, and the first thing he did after handing in his report was go look for his friend.

He found him in the courtyard of the God-General's private wing - to which he had access with Asch's special permission - practicing, his favourite passtime. And shirtless, to boot. Guy wasn't going to complain about that, and he didn't feel too inclined to interrupt, so he stood by the doorway and watched as Asch worked. The sun was doing wonderful things to his skin.
