Captain's Log 001
Mere months into the mission, and I've broken something. I never meant for the subspace network to pick up a trans-dimensional network. Who does? But since I'm here--and since, no doubt, this isn't going in the official report--I might as well use it.
Things I've learned so far:
-dramadramaduck collects beings from different time periods and worlds.
-Even parallel timelines, if Mr. Sulu is to be believed. There was another Kirk here. One with a "reputation," though for what exactly I do not yet know. It seems he is no longer active--perhaps he managed to escape the alleged nexus.
-Many of them know me. Some seem to recognize me--while saying I look "different" or "old"--as the Kirk who was here before.
-Others, however, believe me to be a figure in a fictional "television program" from hundreds of years ago. Or believe I'm pretending to be.
No, I'm going to stop there for a moment. A television show. Entertainment. About my life. But what does that mean? Is it my name, or my face they recognize? Does it bear any relationship to my reality? Or is it some bizarre coincidence? I don't believe in fate, but what can explain it? Further research is indicated.
For that matter, what can explain the fact--and I have no reason to disbelieve Mr. Sulu--that my entire crew has assembled years before my time? We all happened to be here, and we're settling into a good working relationship. But why should the same complement happen in another universe?
Of course, I must admit to myself that a certain amount of my disbelief is mere jealousy--I did not think I had taken the whole "youngest captain ever" thing to heart but it seems that I'm a little more fallible in that area than I thought. Then again, I worked hard to get where I am. I feel tenuous enough as it is--to make captain before I'd experienced what I have on the journey would have been, I think, damaging to my ability to lead. I needed that seasoning. But the envy is unworthy of me.

-However, some of them seem very... dramatic.
-Some, on the other hand, are hot.
