Sometimes I can't help but feel marriage really isn't worth it. My family doesn't seem to agree.

Honestly I think they might want me to elope with a random stranger. How disappointed do you think they'd be if I don't?

Huh. That's more than a little strange. I mean, my family freaks the fuck out if we're not married by the time we're fifty or something -- barring more important projects, which is how my dad managed to get to a hundred before he was pressured into it -- but they at least have specific people in mind for us.

Can't he just get another one?

A hundred's not actually that old, in angelic terms -- yeah, I'm an angel, no, I'm not one of the biblical angels, it's just a species where I'm from -- as some of us are capable of living over a thousand years. Not that a lot of us get to that point.
