Time to finish the fight.

And oh is it a glorious fight.

I wasn't supposed to get it until afternoon today, but my residents went out and waited in line and bought it for me :) love them.

I've played the first mission in Heroic campaign as well as several multiplayer matches and let me just say... it is exquisite. Perhaps not in EVERY way, but I have nothing to complain about. most of the tweaks seem to be design choices rather than things overlooked.

The campaign is beautifully done, plants move when you walk by, water effects are cool enough to stop and look at.... whne u look at the sun, your visor takes a moment to adjust so you can see... little things like that. the polish on this game is blinding. That said, my only complaint is that faces look only slightly better than halo 2... which is to say they look blocky and a little unrealistic. But thats nitpicking, they are better than H2, just not GoW quality. AI seems solid, but I haven't played legendary yet. Grunts kamakazi you with dual plasma grenades, its hilarious the first time you see it... not so funny when you dont see it coming. Radar has been tweaked. Now range is between H1 and H2. its a good medium.

Multiplayer is phenominal. matches are fast, furious and fun. Gravity hammer == god. brute spikers are the shit. The pistol is....interesting. Better than H2, not as overpowered as H1. shotty is solid, i'm pleased. The timing on the human sniper has been changed a tad... my memorized timing on when I can fire again is met with a soft "click" of disagreement. Plasma pistols now drain energy constantly on overcharge mode. A nice touch.

For the campaign, pretty much EVERY weapon is useful which is nice. no whoring the BR and plasma pistol to win. Speaking of which... Bungie DID listen this time. unlike the needler in the 2nd one which was only good in campaign, the new one is deadly in multiplayer too. The needles are FAST now, track much tighter, and explode with only about 6 in a guy. I'd venture to say its overpowered now, and one of my favorite weapons personally. Plasma pistols can be rapid fired again (go Ilya) and when you hit stuff it actually moves like it should, it feels much more solid.

Overall grenade damage seems to be reduced, as well as the timers on plasmas, but its all a balance issue. Now its better to keep firing till your death, the "from the grave" grenade approach is FAR less effective in multiplayer... which i discovered at my peril.

kk i think thats all i have time for, i gotta go to class lol... enjoy it all, we've waited a long time and I'd say its def. worth it.
