Character name: Endora
Fandom: Bewitched
Timeline: End of season one.
Age: Old (unknown, but remembers Helen of Troy)
~*Magical*~ abilities and strengths: She's a witch. This means she can fly, turn people into things, speak mind to mind (at least with other witches), teleport, conjure, etc.
How would they use their abilities?: Likely to her own amusement, possibly in the defense of anyone she starts to care about (unlikely).  In terms of how it's likely to affect the ship itself, Endora would use them to expand her own room (larger on the inside than the outside, just like the TARDIS), meaning that she's unlikely to ever bother doing missions except for her own amusement (again).
Appearance: She's about 5'6" with curly red hair and blue eyes. Endora looks to be in her mid to late sixties and a little soft, but not overweight. She prefers to wear flowing clothes, but tends to go for high end styles when she lowers herself to dress 'mortal.' Picture

Background/Personality: In terms of long past history, she's made comments about Helen of Troy, the Salem witch trials, and other long ago events. She seems to regard a lot of them almost like theatre (except where witches are harmed). In all, she finds mortals pretty amusing.

In Endora's first appearance on the actual show, she makes it very clear that she thinks Samantha's marriage to Darrin Stevens, an "ordinary mortal" who she rarely actually calls his correct name, is a foolish mistake. To give her time to convince Samantha to run away with her, she keeps magically transporting Darrin away from the hotel bedroom door and down into the lobby. Although unsuccessful, this proves to be only the first of many times Endora tries to break up her daughter's marriage. She's disgusted by the fact that her daughter's willing to go along (mostly) with his wishes that she not use magic for even the most basic household things and tries to convince her on many occasions to do so anyway. When she and Samantha go to view a house that Darrin's picked out, she gets her to create furniture and landscaping, but is unable to convince Samantha to actually keep them for more than a viewing of the potential.

She has little patience for badly behaving children, as seen when three neighborhood boys come into the room she's lounging in to pester her. All three end up tied to the bed with the witch nowhere to be seen. Not that she has much patience for adults she sees as rude either, seeing as she threatens to turn Darrin into an artichoke early on, and likely only does not because Samantha promises to turn herself into one too if she did.

Possibly due to her long life with the power to do whatever she wishes, Endora is very impulsive and strong willed. When Darrin cancels a lunch with Samantha to catch up on work, she uses the opportunity to convince her daughter to take lunch with her instead. In Paris.

For all of her issues with Samantha's mortal husband, Endora does try to protect him against her own enraged husband, Maurice, when the warlock banishes Darrin, going so far as to threaten to move back in with him in order to get him to bring the man back. Though it's never directly said, it's strongly hinted that, though still married, they've been estranged for a long time, and have plans on changing their status. She even introduces him as "Samantha's father," rather than any form of "my husband." And despite their married status, she has no problem carrying on not-so-secret affairs with other men.

Endora is fond of using dirty tricks to get what she wants, like when she asks another witch, Jannine, to try and sway Darrin into falling in love with her. Endora has a very low opinion of mortal maturity, likening them to greedy children who just want more and more when given the smallest taste of power. On the same note, she very much wishes for her daughter to be happy (a good portion of the reason why she doesn't want them together), and happily uses her magic to spy on Darrin any time it looks like he could be disloyal to her without Endora's influence.

For all of her rather puckish qualities, she's not an evil woman. Not a particularly good one, but not evil. She never actually harms her daughter's husband, and even steps in to help get Darrin's parents back together (possibly more to get his father off of her trail than anything else, but it counts) and later tries to help Samantha get a traffic light installed in their neighborhood.

Why should that character be in this game: N/A

Why do you want to continue their history here: N/A

For applicants considering an alternate version of a character already in game, please use this as your chance to explain the key differences between your character and the one already in play: N/A

Have you read up on how the game works?: The Guide plug-in is called FlamingFerret, and characters can earn money on the ship by doing missions, getting a job, or mooching off other people.

1st person sample:
[Endora's already pulled a TARDIS* on her room, making for a large and luxurious sitting room in the background of the video.  The witch herself sprawled out comfortably on a chaise lounge with her chin propped up on one hand and a martini glass in the other.]

So, could anyone tell me which of you little darlings thought it would be a good idea to put me through a mundane task like paperwork so I can... thank them properly?

[Likely by turning them into something small and fluffy before handing them over to the nearest child.]

And since I doubt anything so little as a planet being destroyed could kill that man, I'm willing to reward anyone who brings me information on an old fart by the name of Maurice.  The same goes for a lovely young lady named Samantha Stevens.  I will, of course, have to verify your information before any payment is made.  Any attempts to trick me will fail, so I wouldn't suggest trying.

*Making it bigger on the inside than on the outside.

3rd person sample: While Endora had hung around refugees before (poor mortals always threw the best parties), this was the first time she'd actually been one, and she gave an unimpressed look at the stack of blank forms.  Paperwork was something that dull mortals like Dumdum and others of his sort did.  A witch had no reason to validate herself on paper for these silly creatures.

Unfortunately, the goblin (they could call themselves Vogons all they wanted) wasn't exactly moved by her insistences.  "Do you have all of your forms filled out this time?  That'll be 72d, 13c, 47q, 54a...."

"I should have turned you into a horned toad the moment I saw you," Endora said dryly.  She pushed the forms forward, her neat handwriting filling in the lines without any visible hand doing it.

"That would require the use of a 'use of magic against ship personnel' permit," the vogon said, clearly unimpressed by her threat as he flipped through the papers.  "Which you would need form 876d to apply for.  Failure to do so first will result in a fine."

For a moment, the witch seriously considered it, but going through the line again was unappealing.  There was likely another form for 'cutting in line with magical means,' if it worked at all.  She waved an uncaring hand at him.  "Later.  I'm sure I'll be able to restrain myself until then."

Questions?: Nope
Did you put your characters name and fandom in the subject: Yep.
