May 2008 - The world is ending. You are in charge of planetary evacuation. Aside from your friends, family, and loved ones, you must decide who to save -- you can only save five people. Who are they and why do you save them?
If we're talking about something like what happened back at New Caprica, then it would have to be the five people deemed most important to the survival of the human race. Of course, considering the situation the human race has been in for the last couple of decades, it's not that far-fetched a consideration.
I guess I'm sort of lucky when it comes to this question, since my friends, family and loved ones are some pretty important people in this fleet, since the list would include the commanding officer of the fleet, the commander of the Galactica, and the former President of the Colonies.
Okay, so other than Dad, Mom, Anne, Grandpa, Grandma, Hera and Hera’s parents and everybody else in ROTC and their folks, then?
Then I guess it’d be Doc Cottle first. Every time people in books or vids ends up in this kind of situation, they either wish they had a doctor around, or are really glad that they do. And Doc Cottle is ours, although I guess Dr. Ishay could do as an alternate.
After him, you’ve got to have the government represented, and since Grandma Laura’s retired, that means President Gaeta. Mom’s always talking really highly of him, and he seems to do a good job, so he’s in.
I think Mr. Zarek is still kicking around the fleet somewhere, too. Dad and Grandma Laura can’t ever make their minds up about him, but from what they’ve said about his good days, he’d be worth keeping around.
Oh, Gods, I can't forget Dragon-- that is, Capt. Leo Chiang, our ROTC CO. The guy's taught us almost everything we know, and somehow hasn't busted us all down to permanent galley duty for the stuff we've done.
Last I guess would have to be whoever's behind the bar at Joe's at the time, as long as he brings a few cases. I mean, if the world is going boom, might as well, right?
