So a couple of weeks ago I went to this ferret rescue fundraiser as I was asked to go suit there (even though I have a dog costume and not a ferret)
While there I spotted this gorgeous handmade white and blue gryphon plush that someone donated to the raffle. Ecstatic that i found something I liked there, I immediately put in tickets for it.
When the raffle winners were called out, I was crushed that someone else, who only put in one ticket, won the gryphon. Later that night, I asked them how much they wanted for it. Apparently he thought I was joking, as he just started laughing. I was pretty bummed for the rest of the night, even as I was accosted by children left and right.
Later, I had moved on and forgotten about it, until tonight. Somehow the man that won the plush got my email (probably from the director of the rescue, who had asked for my email to thank me personally for suiting). He said that he didn't plan on winning the gryphon, as he put in that one ticket by mistake, and wanted me to have it.
