I never realized how much swim team drains me, even subconsciously. Normally, I have to hurry through my work every night in order to get to bed as early as possible, so that I have a decent amount of energy to get myself up the next morning & swim. Tomorrow I’m heading down to San Diego in the early morning and won’t be able to attend practice... because of that I haven’t got the constant nagging in the back of my mind to work harder - a nagging that leaves me a bit haggard all evening. Tonight I can do my work in peace and not worry about being tired tomorrow, because it really doesn’t matter; less energy may leave me slightly groggy and sleepy, but I can deal with it in any activity that doesn’t involve swimming. I feel refreshed, despite it being a normal day of work... :)
Anyhow, the reason I’m going to San Diego is to play[piano] in one of the recitals @ the MTAC annual state convention (Music Teacher’s Association of California). I’m able to go since I received honors in the Certificate of Merit test and because the judge chose me. Apart from the boring recital which I haven’t properly practiced my piece for, I anticipate having fun at the convention looking at pianos, music books, and other music related displays. hehe, now that’s a piano nerd for ya!
Tomorrow, after I finish playing and browsing a bit, my family is going to leave the convention and go to Sea World!! woohoo! I haven’t been there since I was too young to remember... if you know much about me, you’re likely to know that I absolutely love marine life (especially dolphins - the mascot of my swim team). Also, I love theme parks of any sort, so that makes it doubly awesome. We got free tickets from donating platelets at City of Hope, So I don't have to feel quily about the admission prices... fun to the tenth power! :)
So... I’ll be out of my house by 6:30am tomorrow morning, be done w/ the convention around noon, then be having a blast @ Sea World until 11pm (when it closes), and be home by approximately 2am. muahaha! I finally get two weekends off in a row! Of course, I always feel slightly guilty, but I try not to think about that once I’m gone doing something non-schoolwork, otherwise I spoil it for myself...
...must stop babbling and do my writing/literature assignment. *sigh* I’ll be back on Saturday morning, then there’s a 4th of July sleepover/vacation/thing with my dad’s side of the family (which lasts until Monday). Wow, I haven't done so much consecutive non-schoolwork stuff for quite a while... adios until later, my faithful readers... (in other words, Karli, Beth, and sometimes Co. lol)
