Until then, while I attempt to finish differential equations homework - without staying up at a ridiculously early hour again, read this.

People, over the course of time, change not just because of the everyday choices and decisions but also because people perceive flaws. These flaws are not always actual flaws but are perceived flaws due to the preferences of the person. In your case, you thinking your previous posts as trivial is probably due to the growth of your mind, you have higher things to think about now than when you were younger which is a good thing. It would bad though if you thought that previous sentiments were high and lofty things. Just think if you thought of a idea or something you said when you were a toddler was a high and lofty thing; such beliefs might reflect mental atrophy. Granted some of the things we write in our journals can still remain true today but I also find it equally true that the more we learn about the world and gain new wisdom, the more likely we are to change our views on thing we did not fully understand.
