I was watching ET (the infotainment show) and I got really annoyed..
They had these actreses, who refuses to trim down for the job. and the way they describe them.. "Smart. Beautiful. Overweight"
well now you're probably thinking, "they shouldn't call them overweight! that's not nice!"
but i think otherwise. These ladies were at least 100kg each, and that's not what I call overweight. they're obese. and it's an insult to those who are actually overweight.
the way i define it, one's weight status can be calculated from their BMI, yea it's not so accurate espescially when you're measuring athletes whose muscles will obviously weigh more, but the average person could use this.
anyway, so the "normal" range is 20-25 and overweight is 25-30 and 30+ is obese. under 20 is obviously underweight.
but so, this is how you calculate it (metric system) say you're 165cm tall, convert it to metres i.e 1.65m, square it and divide your weight by it.
so say you're 1.65m tall and you weigh 60kg. so it'll be 60/(1.65x1.65) and that'll give you ~22
these women are NOT overweight dammit, they're obese. stop insulting overweight people.
so.. that's my annoyance of the day.
