I do not repair "personal" computers
After attempting to clean the neighbors PC of 37 virus's and 7 Trojans I told him it was time to reinstall. He had 2 different copies of antivirus software running and they had both expired. I finally got them uninstalled and got my commercial version of Symantec Endpoint installed. it was immediately disabled and the scan engine broken.
After discovering that he really had NOTHING of value on the drive and only used AOL it was time to just do a reinstall.
Some people just shouldn't have computers.
He's happy again, well, at least about the computer and all is well with the woodland creatures.
