Writing Galore

I just wanted to update everyone who's on my friends list.

I know it looks like I haven't been writing much lately; the truth is, I have been writing, just not fan-fiction. I've just completed a full-length novel that I'm going to be publishing as soon as it's revised and edited to my satisfaction. I have a second novel about halfway done, and I'm about five chapters into a third. The first novel is a retelling of The Phantom of the Opera, based entirely off the original book by Gaston Leroux, with a small amount of inspiration from the 1920s silent film. I'm not sure how many publishers will be interested in it, so I may end up using Lulu. The second is an original novel that's hard to classify, but I'll definitely be submitting it to an agent once it's done. It's a little bit science fiction, with a good dollop of romance, and a hint of political/spy thriller. The third is without a doubt romance in a strong sci-fi setting.

In addition to my novels, I've been writing freelance articles for an online trade journal, and I've been stockpiling articles and blog entries for my brand new sewing website that should be launched in another few weeks. I've recently become a sewing instructor, and this website will support that, with articles on all aspects of sewing, from how to draw your own fashion sketches, to using a ruffler attachment foot, to how to make an authentic Victorian costume.

As for my Live Journal, I will continue to make sporadic updates. All things sewing will be removed to my new website, but I will post all fan-fiction and art-related things here. I do have a few Doctor Who stories either in the works or just waiting on a beta-reader. I've also got a collection of Phantom of the Opera short stories that I never got around to posting here, along with a few one-shots from Lord of the Rings and Firefly, and all of my old stories from The X-Files, Beauty and the Beast, Quantum Leap, and Star Trek. Some of these are from before I learned to write well, so I will likely polish them up before I dare post them.

Anyway, I haven't forgotten y'all. I've just been really, really busy! :-D
