"Borrowed" DW Fic!
* Warning! * This Post Contains Mild Spoilers for The Time of Angels (episode 4 of Series 5)
Those who have read my stories may have noticed a similarity between the opening sequence of The Time of Angels and my fic Edge of Doom. I watched the beginning of the episode with a dropped jaw. The similarities cannot be a coincidence! I don't know whether to be ticked off that Moffat stole part of my story . . . or to jump up and down and squeal because Moffat read my story! And liked it! Enough to steal it. :P
Just to clarify, here's a comparison of Edge of Doom and The Time of Angels.
* The Doctor runs through a museum, with a redheaded companion named Amy Pond. (TToA)
* The Doctor runs through a museum, with a redheaded companion named Sinead. (EoD)
* The Doctor finds an ancient artifact (a "home box"), containing a message for him. (TToA)
* The Doctor finds an ancient artifact (a newspaper), containing a message for him. (EoD)
* The Doctor steals aforementioned ancient artifact and runs back to the TARDIS with it. (TToA)
* The Doctor steals aforementioned ancient artifact and runs back to the TARDIS with it. (EoD)
* The Doctor uses the ancient artifact to pinpoint precise coordinates in time and space, in order to locate River Song. (TToA)
* The Doctor uses the ancient artifact to pinpoint precise coordinates in time and space, in order to locate Rose Tyler. (EoD)

Last time, I wasn't sure how to react. This time, I am without a doubt flattered and honored. I thought highly enough of Doctor Who to borrow it for awhile, and Doctor Who thought highly enough of my work to borrow it back. You can't ask for a better compliment than that, folks.
