Hi there. I haven't updated in a week or so, I just haven't had anything to say, and I didn't want to trouble you with mopey whingeing bullshit.
Isn't Valentine's Day a crock of shit? Someone agree with me please, I've had nothing but soppy turgid mush all day off people.
Sorry to post two sets of lyrics in a row, it's a little selfindulgent, but I quite like these:
V1:
I brought you here to start a war
To kiss and make up and find reasons galore
To explain away the theories and hypotheses
That the scientific circus serves us on the breeze
If you squint past the trenches and follow the path
Past toads, cars, and kestrels; try hard not to laugh
We'll come to a crossroads and an apocathery
Just a short walk digression before you marry me
V2:
I'm not ashamed to bring you home
I laid out doiles, placemats, and called it Rome
But you prefer Athens and the glory that was Greece
We've got no piano over which to make peace
The war is over and the soldiers will return
To find frost at their boots and their words and they'll learn
That only as long as there's blood in their buttonholes
Will their children see victims, fathers and heroes
Chorus:
Under a tent in the pouring rain
They're heaven-sent to heal the sane
But they're wrong
This is NOT a sad song.
It's not often I rhyme lyrics...that's meant to be a sort of fucked up fairy tale..kind of leak. But NOT sad at all. I still need to write the bridge.
Oh, don't get me wrong. I'm not bitter. I'm on top of the world.
