Organizing toys at Grandma's...

My MIL has started having my 3.5 year-old nephew over on Saturdays. She went out and bought a bunch of toys, but nothing to store them in. Any ideas? I was thinking a rubbermaid hinged box that is wider and maybe 1.5-2 ft. high? I could use smaller boxes like pencil boxes to store smaller items together. I have a really cool hinged rubbermaid comtainer, it's about 2 feet by 3 feet. It was sold at Walmart. I love it for storing Christmas gifts, toys and outside things that you need acess for :)

I think one of those Steralite drawer units has good potential (and the come in fun kid colors). Some argue that they are less roomy, but in my experience, it's important to make organizing things easy. I have rubbermaid buckets with lids for my fabric, but they are stacked up and it's a HUGE pain to unstack them and dig through them. I also have a nasty habit of stacking things on top of them, thinking I'll put them away later. Naaaaaah! Believe me, I'm getting drawer units.

The benefit of drawers, besides being easy to access and child-high, is that you can sort things. Cars go here, dolls go here, crayons go here, etc. Not that he'll pick up on that necessarily, but it's good to start early and kids do enjoy sorting things. A three year old is gonna have a hard time opening the rubbermaid monster.

On the other hand, clean-up could be easy because you can just dump everything into the rubbermaid monster...
