How to turn a junk storage room in to a functioning office and guest room?

Hi everyone! New here. I found this community via hambone's userinfo. I hope you don't mind another dazed and confused person that really wants to get organized!

OK, so here's the situation. My husband and I were planning on relocating this summer. So we allowed our 2nd bedroom to become a junk storage room. And trust me when I say that it really is just that. Well, we're not moving. My computer desk is already out in the living room, but we want to move it back into the second room. We also want to get another small computer cart and move the computer there so our table can be utilized for crafts, bill-paying, etc. I'm also moving a full-sized bed in there to serve as a guest bed. I have my plan for how I want the room organized already, which is definitely good. Now it's just getting there!

My dilemma though is that I have so much stuff EVERYWHERE. I have my Christmas decorations in boxes all over the floor. I have books that need to be donated/sold/thrown away on the floor. I have random junk that needs to be organized and disposed of all everywhere. I have no idea where to begin. Because we live in an apartment with very limited storage I am at a loss for how to maintain the things that I want in the room wihtout causing it to be messy.

I need help. Please? I'm devoting a solid week to organizing the room in about a week and a half. It'll involve moving a larger bookcase into the room to store the books that I want to keep, moving the table, and purchasing the desk. The guest bed will have to wait a little bit until I have to money to purchase it, but that'll give me time to get the rest of the room organized.

Thanks so much.
