Last weekend I installed a closet system and completely reorganized my stuff, which was very neat but not necessarily organized. Now it's functional and beautiful. So my parents were inspired to do the same. I have to admit I'm very proud of the two of them, especially my mother.
They've lived in this house for 20-odd years and my mother's always had the walk-in closet in the master bedroom while my father had the much smaller closet in the guest bedroom. After we completely emptied the walk-in closet, my mother and I went through her stuff while my father installed the system. By the time we were done, she'd decided to donate literally half her work clothes [they're both retired now]. In fact, she removed so much that we moved my father's clothing into the closet with hers. I found out this is the first time they've shared a closet since they were married thirty-two years ago.
With my little cousin possibly coming to live with us in the near future [three incomes should be able to support one teenager], not to mention a string of visitors coming throughout Summer, we're installing another closet system in the guest bedroom. Then my mother wants to tackle the coat closet.
