Lunch at Jen's

I took my 93 year old Grandma up to my cousin Jen's house for lunch today, and had a really lovely time.
Grandma is so funny, I never ceased to be amazed at the truths that she comes out with. On the way up to Jen's (about half an hour) I told her about the book that I am writing, explaining my thesis and waiting for the part where I try to make her understand till I am blue in the face. Far from my expectations Grandma had some great insights to share, I love the way she reasons things and simplifies them, and she wished me well with my project.
Jen is a marvellous cook and we had a delicious quiche for lunch. She has recently sold her house, so it was nice to see it before she leaves it in a couple of weeks.
Young Nathan was out entertainment for the afternoon, leading us all in a singalong. He is such a cutie, just the spitting image of Jen's Dad.
I really had fun today, and enjoyed another great chat with Grandma on the way home. We picked up Danny from school on the way home, and he was really excited that Grandma was with me.
This afternoon I made up my bed in my room finally, although I still won't be able to sleep in there for a few days at the very least, but I love walking in there and seeing it all made up now.
I had a sudden inspiration while I was talking to Jen today and I have shut my room up and I'm burning a whole stack of incense in there. I will leave it all shut up and hopefully the smoke from them will help settle the paint fumes a bit. I have no real logic to back up my plan, but it feels right, so I am all good with it. I love the smell of incense anyway.
I am heading off to pick up Grandma again soon and take her down to Mum and Dad's for our weekly Wednesday family dinner. It's really nice for us all to get together, and at the very worst I can at least get a few wines down me and a good feed.
