Indian food and tickle fights

I had the best time last night. We went up to Dawn's for dinner and had a few too many wines and a whole lot of crazy fun.
Matty met us at the end of our road, and Danny went with him, following me up to Dawn's place.
Dawn cooked Rogan Josh and Butter chicken with rice, I took a garden salad with a sheep yoghurt based dressing, Matty cooked naan bread, Chris cooked home made lemon pasta and brought home made bread, Betty brought some delicious cheesecake shop desserts and Jordyn cooked lasagne for the kids and a chocolate cake.
Dawn and I polished off 3 bottles of some cleanskin quaffing wine she has, and it went very well with the curries.
It was kind of weird having Steve's parents there and not Steve. It felt strange to be avoiding talking about him, as that would have been our usual topic of conversation, but it was lovely to get to know them on a whole new level, not just as Steve's parents. We did discuss him briefly a few times, but I think there was a silent general consensus that it felt a bit awkward now that he and Dawn have broken up.
Matty was a bit confused at first as to exactly who these oldies were I think, but he soon just relaxed and went with the flow and we all got along extremely well.
It was funny to see Steve's Dad Peter and his best mate Chris getting a bit drunk together, it is always a pleasure to witness the love and understanding between life long friends.
The oldies left quite early because they all had to go home and watch the replay of the Crows match, which they all seemed to be a bit religious about, so we went into the lounge and watched Lord of the Rings.
Dawn sent Jordyn and her friend Natalie to bed soon after we settled in the lounge and she set up a mattress on the lounge floor for Danny and I to sleep on.
I got Danny to lie down on the mattress and at least look like he was attempting sleep for a while, but the poor child had no chance of any real sleep for hours to come yet.
I am really not sure how it all started, but the fact that Dawn and I had been drinking steadlity all night made it hard to stop once the ball was rolling and before long there was a full scale tickle war being waged on the mattress and the lounge, and a terrible lot of squealing and screaming.
Matty was tickling me at one stage and Dawn pulled up his t-shirt at the back and threw a glass of water all over him, the look of shock on his face was priceless, and I still laugh aloud when I think of it.
Then both Dawn and Matty went and got fresh drinks, Matty's just in an ordinary glass, but Dawn filled a jug! They both came back into the lounge and sat down on the sofa together...I was a bit worried that I was going to cop both lots of water, but luckily they just attacked each other.
I hardly got wet at all, except for when Matty stood over me afterwards dripping water into my hair.
Dawn was lucky, she could just go and put her pj's on, but poor Matty had a jugs worth of water dumped on his lap, and when he left an hour or so later he had to walk out into the frosty night with wet pants still.
It was a great night all up, and it was lovely to sit and chat with Dawn over coffee this morning.
