Well, I think this is a very valid point but I also feel like it goes beyond health care. There are several industries that have gotten ridiculously out of hand in the past two or three decades and how to get them to change is a huge problem. I'm chiefly thinking of health care\insurance, energy\gas, and the telephone carriers. Possible additions could be made such as the automotive industry, recording industry\movie industry, a few technology cartels, etc. but they really pale in comparison to those first three. Additionally, there are many countries where great examples of such industries are in place. The health care system in Europe I think is generally better though which country would make sense for us to model specifically is something I'm not versed enough to say. The telcos in both europe, japan, and korea are actually incredible. Of course, education and global relief (can we try micro-vcs some more please?) and such are really important as well.
