Birthdayness

"Until a man is twenty-five, he still thinks, every so often, that under the right circumstances he could be the baddest motherfucker in the world. If I moved to a martial arts monastery in China and studied real hard for ten years. If my family was wiped out by Colombian drug dealers and I swore myself to revenge. If I got a fatal disease, had one year to live, devoted it to wiping out street crime. If I just dropped out and devoted my life to being bad."

Now that I am 25, I suppose I can no longer convince myself that I could be the baddest motherfucker in the world. That's fine though, at some point you have to be satisfied with who and what you are and will become.

I'd like to thank everyone (particularly Julie and Stephen) for throwing me an awesome birthday party and also for pooling resources to buy me a totally sweet baretta handgun. Despite common belief, I really had no idea what was going on and was consequently completely surprised when people appeared from the corners of my house yelling surprise. Without a doubt this was the best birthday I've ever had. Like I said, I was (and am) shocked and touched. Thanks again guys, it's friends like you that make me feel that there are good things in this world.
