30 Day Song Challenge - Day 12
A Song By A Band You Hate*
Hate is a strong word. I wouldn't say I actually hate any band, not even these guys or the previously-slated Toploader. Let's use a slightly less extreme word. Despise or loath will do. If I had Nickelback tied to some chairs in a darkened cellar I wouldn't actually kill them with a baseball bat or crowbar. I definitely think I would manage to stop just short of that. It's surprising how much punishment the human skull can take without causing lethal brain damage.
As long as Chad Kroeger took enough that he could never perform or write this dire, whinging nu-grunge again, I might even let him keep the use of his legs.
I'm not a violent man, after all. I just want to see justice done.
I was tempted to pick the video of him getting lamped in the head with a rock onstage (Enjoy: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vQzhOyHTarU), but settled instead for the execrable single that first brought them into my fragile little world. My girlfriend at the time loved it - in retrospect, a vital clue that I missed.
