hmmm.
I'm at work a bit early today, so before i go away to hide and read my book about a chinese empress, (very good by the way) i thought i would do a long-overdue update.
i've lost it a bit lately because i've been working my ass off for various things. getting fit, fundraising and the fact my team is less than a skeleton at work right now and there's so much work i can't even get my brain round it.
getting fit is going well though. i'm definitely getting there. i have moved down a good 2 sizes in my trousers now, and one size in my tops. i'm gonna keep going though because i want to go down another 2 sizes ideally.
(aside: ew. you know when you randomly remember a cringeworthy naughty moment in your life and you have to physically close your eyes for a second? i just did that.)
fundraising is getting there too. we have about £600 more to raise bt i think we can do that without too much trauma. it'll take a little work, but hey, this whole thing has required that!
work is shit, but what's new? there are currently 3 of us in the team, albeit a variation of the 4 of us who turn up, but never more than 3. my team leader doesn't count in that 3, but then again she also doesn't take on a share of the work so it kind of makes no difference whether we're 3 without a team leader or 4 with one. still the same jobs through 3 people. fucking ridiculous state of affairs.
still, nice to sit at my desk, because the ever beautiful amit sits sort of opposite me. and he is lovely.
i have a clothing/ night out trauma which i may come back and talk about later on, if you're lucky!
we've now done 2 of our 3 gigs (there were meant to be 4, but for now the only explanation i can be bothered to write for that is: marc smalec.)
gig # 1 was ace. jay foreman, lost hearts and my cousin kate played. (your ead that right, MY COUSIN KATE played. that would Chris Beard's band.) Jay Foreman is awesome and I love him very much. www.jayforeman.co.uk
lost hearts are a band of a guy from work called Leigh. i like them a lot and hope they do very well.
gig # 2 was STRESSFUL. but still good, because we had Rob Hill, Jay Foreman and Horsebox, all of whom were awesome, but the winning part of the day are our bloody brilliant friends! chloe and anna <-- thank you for coming, i hope you liked jay! my friend from school, sebastian, came along. and then graham and henri, sophie and dave, aussie dave and jim. heroes. they got the equipment, ran the sound, did everything. i love them.
kelly had her first trip to henri hospital, which is my favourite place on earth. i am glad she came. we saw mikey and his kelly. it made me cry. i miss mikey.
i'm gonna have to go now and make a cup of tea before i fade away.
bye bye x
