The time stamp on this is accurate. What am I doing up before the birds? Eating. Why? Low blood sugar.
The good news is that a new medication I'm on is lowering my blood sugar, which is a good thing, but now I'm having to deal with low blood sugar. The only good thing about this is that my two dogs are WONDERFUL! Mister Wiggles (the older one) has wakened me several times when I've been dreaming about being cold only to find that I was actually quivering like a nervous chihuahua, which is a symptom of low blood sugar.
This morning, much to my annoyance and delight, Sara, the younger dog would *not* stop pestering me. She was pushing her nose under my chin to make me roll over so she could lick my face (which she knows I hate) and was also standing on me, which I also hate since she weighs about 95 pounds. When I finally woke up enough to get past being pissed off, I realized I was doing the chihuahua thing. I got up and tested and my blood sugar was 47. A normal fasting level is 80 to 100. Maybe I should have gotten the hamburger I was craving before I went to bed...
Anyway, other than dealing with low blood sugar and feeling like a pincushion, things are going well with getting the diabetes under control. This is a very good thing.
