I found the perfect shoes to go with the perfect dress. They're court shoes with a peep toe and a chunky heel. They're not quite what I wanted and I didn't like them when I first saw them in the shop, but the pushy assistant made me try them on and they look amazing. I just need to practise walking in them, because I am not used to wearing high heels and therefore teeter in them. If there is some slush in DC, I'll need to be pretty steady on my feet, or else I'll slip on it and end up falling in the river. Rivers, ponds and so on already have an almost magnetic attraction for me; I can't count the number into which I've fallen by accident. Hopefully, though, I'll have a rather adorable man by my side to catch me in that unfortunate event. Knowing my luck, I'll probably just end up taking him into the river with me, so I better practise on those shoes. :p
Otherwise, life continues to be darn boring. You know you're hardly leading a thrilling existence when the highlight of your day is a seminar on Shelley's "The Mask of Anarchy," no matter how intelligent, thought-provoking and entertaining it was.
