Day 1 we did nothing. Tokyo likes Michelle better than me because it was raining when I was dragging my shit to the hotel but no longer raining when I picked her up and walked her to the hotel; making me freezing cold from being wet. We bought convenience store food and went to sleep.
Day 2: We started off by exploring Ueno area, me seeing what's changed (favourite 100 yen store gone u.u) michelle seeing things for the first time. We ate some soba then went to Ueno park. We saw the Tokyo National Museum (what little of it was open currently). Then we visited the market near Ueno station and the grocery store in Ueno to get supplies. After dropping those off we went to Akihabara. I got my Comiket guide book, a love stage poster, some little trinkets, plus a bunch of ridiculous things at don quijote. Because what else do you get at don quijote? Also, japan's 'tax free' offers for short term tourists have really expanded. As long as I get things bagged and don't open the bag til I leave; I can not pay the 5% consumption tax. so that's cool.
We... only got done half of Akihabara before everything closed up for the night. We had beef bowl at a chain restaurant. It was cool though because they had a size inbetween medium and large, 1.6x beef, which costs the same as large, but you get 1.6x the beef and 0.9 times the rice of a medium, which kind of just works out better anyways.
We're on a lovely go to sleep after 1am wake up at 10am schedule which is actually pretty good for the things we want to do in Tokyo. So there's that.
