LOL I love Voltron. Lotor/Allura was my original Zutara-esque love...though it ended tragically.

I barely remember it, but; damn, what a doomed love! I certainly hope Zuko/Katara doesn't follow down the same path. But you gotta admit, it has its similarities.

I'd be really, really curious to know if Bryan and Mike had some 80s shows (cartoons/anime) as their inspirations for Avatar, as well. ^^

I'm sure they did; after all, they grew up with it!

And yeah, it was a doomed love. (It even had aspects of the Oedipal.)

Even Zuko and Lotor's pointy helms are similar. For serious.

That's actually quite scary (the similarities). Now I'm thinking Bryan/Mike really did have Voltron/Lotor in mind when they created Avatar/Zuko. o_O I mean, it's kind of eerie, right?

What I'm wondering now is, maybe Bryan and Mike were Lotor/Allura shippers too (>:D), and maybe they were really upset that L/A could never be, and instead Allura and Keith (ugh) got together. Keith = Aang.

Maybe Avatar:TLA is their way of coming to grips with the Lotor/Allura disappointment they experienced in their teens. XDDD Possible, yes?

LOL THE LOTOR PROPHECY. If only they were that influenced by The Lotura romance. Still, I'm considering writing something Z/K in a Voltron-inspired alternate universe. I'm just bad at finishing long-term things like that.
