Bear with me or don't. It's my blog.

So basically he was murdered. Michael Jackson was murdered. I know people die all the time. All day every day, under all kinds of hinky circumstances. I watch too much tv news, CSI, L&O, and all that other crap to think death is always old people who die in their sleep after long fruitful lives.

I'm in Tampa, FL and on the news right now they are showing the funeral for a cop who was killed in the line of fire. Sick, twisted and heinous. I know death comes.

I'm having a hard time wrapping my mind around it being MICHAEL JACKSON. I had this problem with Princess Diana (and she was murdered too, don't let anyone tell you diffrerently!), but I didn't grow up listening to her music on the radio. I remember watching the cartoon that was put on the air to capitalize on the Jackson 5 fame and compete with the Osmonds (and yes I still love Donny Osmond). I remember doing the bump at a friends birthday party to Dancin Machine. My father gave Prince the highest compliment he could for Purple Rain; "If it wasn't for Michael Jackson Prince would have won" (I can't remember what award ceremony it was, I think it was the year Thriller killed everything.)

I am in my early 40's coming to term with my own mortality. Michael dying would have been one thing, but MURDERED? That's just...wrong. I know Mike had gotten...strange but I just can't see murdered.

I gotta get back to 'work'. Here are some links for ya.

*My bad. According to the links, the Osmonds cartoon started AFTER the J5.
