the land...

ok. So most people dont know my story. I was born here in CA, when my mother was 6 months preggos.. which explains why i am small. So after the '89 earthquake.. we left to live in oregon. At first i hated it. there was nothing to do. But as time wore on i learned to like it. There was soo much freedom. it was not as dangerous as it is here. I lived in a nice forested national forest. So it was like camping everyday. We lived in a logg home that was 3 stories high i guess. We had lots of land like.. 40 acres of our own property and behind it more that we can just go onto. Sometimes it was dangerous because there were the Mountain Lions and bears and whatever wildlife you can think up. The weather was always changing with the seasons. Unlike ca where its always sunny. in oregon in the fall its colorful and very cold and frosty like merced . the winter is frozen with snow and icestorms and rain. since i lived 7 miles from any civilization we had to catch a school bus. our house was about a mile from the main road... up and down and across a creek, so it was literally a hike each way. so in the fall it was cold and the ground was basically ice that crunched beneath your feet. Winter was cool, somedays there would be icicles hanging from trees and everything would be frozen. Sometimes you would wake up to complete silence because it had just snowed. Nothing would be untouched...you could see footprints of all animals and all you could hear is snow falling off of tree branches. We lived in the x-mas tree capitol of the world. so imagine thousands of giant x-mas trees as far as you can see. topped with snow.. its really cool. the spring there are flowers and new grass and baby animals. things are all clean and sparkly, we even had a huge garden growing.. We had our own grapes, raspberries and blueberries..In the summer its like california.. except it is always green. Lots more shade.. we would spend our time riding our horse or hiking behind our property looking for wild strawberries and blackberries and raspberries. . It was a very nice place.. despite not having our home with electricity, or real walls for that matter. We were outside the majority of the time anyhow. We had sooo many animals.. we were never alone. We had cats, a wolf/husky/malamute dog named snoopy.. a blacklab named spike.. and our horse La tasha, our cows.. chickens, geese, ducks, turkeys.. anything you could think of.. so you could imagine all the chores we did each day feeding them and taking care of them. I was a wild child. Always unintentionally hurting myself.. falling on gravel, running into bushes and stickers from hiking.. so naturally if i came to CA i looked like i was abused lol. But it was the best life.. we had camp fires and lots of fun up there.. But all good things come to an end.
