[Art Dump] ...I've never posted Moldova on here, have I?

Oh my God.

Well! In my preliminary designs for Moldova (Ion Sollomovici), he was very short and pale and had long hair (and he was repulsively moe. That changed quickly.)

(Forgive the bad artwork; this was drawn several years ago.)

But as I continued researching him, I chopped off his hair, darkened his hair and skin a bit to reflect Ottoman Turkish influence.

But then, of course, reflecting Russian influence...made him really tall. Like, 190 cm tall.

But very thin and bony, as if a strong breeze could blow him away.
(And this terrible art was just me indulging in my love of uniforms, especially since the reference I found for the Moldovan Honour Guard was so lovely.)

...dear God, my artwork does him no justice.

But yes, back when he was Basarabia...

...he was a cute little thing. My own personal headcanon dictates that Basarabia had an older twin sister (one to represent the western half of the Principality of Moldavia),

though she disappeared when Moldavia entered a union with Wallachia to form the Kingdom of Romania in 1859.

And so then Basarabia was all on his own with bigger countries on either side divvying his territories up.

After a while and after Russia's political power went belly up, Basarabia decided to do his own thing. For a little while. A very little while. And then he and Transylvania...

(Yes this my OC for Transylvania. FIGHT ME.)

...entered into a union with the Kingdom of Romania in 1918 to form the territory of Greater Romania.

Notably, Hungary was pissed about this.

But these things happen.

More later when I...actually have art, ahaha.
