This time I'll talk about my latest obsession which is ...... D.GRAY-MAN!!!
for anyone who doesn't know what D.Gray-Man(DGM) is about and want to know what exactly is it about,
Summary (or should I say summaries? >_<) :
- Allen Walker is a young Exorcist who has a cursed eye that can see the suffering of the Akumas created by The Millenium Earl. He travels to England to the Headquarters of the Exorcists where his Master has sent him to meet with the other Exorcists. The battle with the Millenium Earl and the Noah Family vs. the Exorcists intensifies when some of the best Exorcists begin to get killed by hoards of Akuma. Japan takes center stage in this end of 19th Century plot in order to not let the entire human race be turned into Akumas and the Exorcists have the power of "Innocence" that was given to them by God on their side.

The mission of the Black Order is to stop The Millennium Earl, an evil ghoul intending to cleanse the world by destroying all the humans in the manner of Noah's great flood.
The Exorcists themselves are special people gifted with the ability to control and use Innocence, a divine substance created in the ages past to combat the Earl's minions, the Akuma. It is said that there are exactly 109 units of Innocence scattered around the world. Once an Innocence finds its compatible person, it will evolve to become a weapon to fight the Akumas.
As the story goes, Allen Walker is introduced with more Exorcist characters, among them are Yu Kanda, Lenalee Lee, Lavi, Arystar Krory, and Miranda Lotto. Also in the spotlight are Komui Lee, the church's science department supervisor and older brother of Lenalee Lee; Bookman, a mysterious colleague within the church; and Cross Marian, a General in the Organization and Allen's master.
More villains also appear along the way. There are higher level Akumas, with greater power, skill and wit. Also appearing is Noah's Family, a group of humans descended from Noah himself each gifted with great power, who have allied themselves with the Earl.

Main Characters :
Allen Walker
Allen Walker is the main character of D.Gray-man. An Exorcist of British origin and also the youngest one alive, his left arm has gained the power of an anti-Akuma weapon. His anti-Akuma weapon is a rare parasite-type that shares a symbiotic relation with the Accomodator's body. His true birthday is unknown, but he is about fifteen years old. Allen was abandoned by his birthparents due to the supposed "deformity" of his left arm (his anti-Akuma weapon) and was adopted by Mana Walker on Christmas. After Mana died, Allen, tortured with grief, turned Mana into an Akuma, thinking that he was truly resurrecting his foster father. The Mana Akuma cursed Allen and sliced through his left eye and left the "Pentacle" - the mark of the Akuma (It is a scar-like mark on Allen's face). It was at this same moment that Allen's left arm first invoked as an anti-Akuma weapon, which instinctively destroyed the Mana Akuma. However the shock of killing his beloved father turned his hair snow-white. And to this day, his cursed eye allows him to see the bound souls of those trapped inside Akuma.
Kanda Yuu
An 18 year old Exorcist from Japan. He can recover much faster due to a mysterious tattoo above his heart (which looks like a Hinduism seal), and it is related to a flower sealed in a hourglass that was said when wilted, will kill Kanda with it. His purpose in life is to find "that someone"; until then, he will never allow himself to die. So far, it has lost two petals, but is otherwise still robust. He seems to be able to withstand the blood of Akuma, most likely due to the tattoo above his heart. The hourglass and flower is said to be his only personal possession. He was grudgingly partners with Allen in Allen's first mission. He has long black hair (blue in the anime), washed by soap. The mangaka commented that Kanda is a "pretty type character" (he was also often mistaken for a girl when he first appeared, but looks more masculine after Hoshino changed her drawing style since around chapter 80), and Allen even called him "Feminine face" etc. However, he has a rough tongue, foul mouth and a cold manner, and tends to say "Tch" a lot. Yu is Kanda's given name, but he dislikes being called that. He calls Allen "bean sprout" (モヤシ, moyashi), because compared to him, Allen is somewhat short and of a slight build, not to mention Kanda is older. Kanda's favorite foods are soba noodles and tempura (Especially pumpkin and shishitou, a kind of small green pepper). Kanda dislikes so many things to the point that "there are too many to write down". But it is a known fact that he hates people with a naive personality (Allen), people who can't keep their mouths shut, General Tiedoll, people calling him by his given name, and "sweet things" (though it is unknown whether he means "sweet" as in food, or "sweet" as in naive, as the term for "sweet" and "naive" are the same in Japanese). His anti-Akuma weapon is a black katana, "Mugen" (六幻), which turns silver when activated. "Mugen" means "six illusions".
Rinari Ri / Leenalee Lee / Linali Li
Komui's younger sister, and assistant Head Officer. She is Chinese, and 16 years old. Her parents were killed by an Akuma when she was very young. Because she is an Accommodator, the Black Order took her away from her only remaining family member (Komui) to Headquarters against her will. For three years she was never allowed to leave the place, which felt like a prison to her. Because she attempted suicide, she had to be restrained and tied to her bed. However, once Komui joined the Black Order, Lenalee became more at ease in the Black Order. She once told Allen that her "world" consists of her friends and family; if something terrible ever happened to them, she would be devastated.
She is an Exorcist whose anti-Akuma weapon is a pair of boots, "Dark Boots" (黒い靴). That, when invoked increases one's speed and strength greatly in the legs. She has a strong sense of friendship, which sometimes causes her emotional pain (or causes her to fight with Allen). Bak (of the Black Order's Asia Headquarters) is stalking her.
Rabi / Ravi / Lavi
A red-haired Exorcist of mixed race, who aims to become a Bookman and is working along the Black Order just to be close to the events that must be seen. He is 18 years old, and normally uses his left eye. His anti-Akuma weapon is a size-shifting hammer, which he calls "Ōdzuchi Kodzuchi" (大槌小槌) or called "Nyoibo". It can grow (満, man) or extend (伸, shin). His hammer can also summon several "judgments" with kanji possibly representing the classical elements that can be used individually or combined. However, between each letter is a question mark. This means Rabi either has more attacks that he hasn't learned or that he doesn't know that he had the attack all together. It was shown when Bookman told Rabi to use the wood seal to clear the clouds (Three Akuma were hiding behind the clouds). Rabi stated that he forgot he could use it to affect nature directly, and as he remembered it the question mark turned into a kanji that he used right away.

My Point Of View :
D.Gray-Man simply... ROX!!! at first, I read a short summary about DGM from a magazine. I thought it was not a suitable anime for me as I love comedy and an exorcist killing akumas' doesn't sounds like a funny anime to me. after somewhile, I somehow came across ANN / D.Gray-Man page. and I was pretty shocked that there is 'comedy' in one of its genres. it sounds stupid but it is pretty important to me >< . so, I tried downloading the 1st eps. and I definitely love the opening, Innocent Sorrow! its great! well, the first eps features allen. my rating for the first eps is 'kinda good'. DGM keeps getting better & better one by one eps and now, I think it is one of the best anime in the world XD!
My fav character is of course Allen. allen is just too funny sometimes but he can be serious too. when he's fighting, he's serious. allen is also a tad too kind. not that it is bad. in 1 eps he was fighting an akuma & for some reason (if I tell all about the reason, it will be a Spoiler! just stick 'for some reason' k? >_^), he almost got himself killed to save tha akuma. luckily rinali managed to stop him. overall, he's kool! kanda, rabi, rinali & all are good. and yes, komui, rinari's brother. he's damn evil & funny! XD
D.Gray-Man will have a total of 52 episodes. :D one of the eps that I really enjoyed is eps 8. it was absolutely FUNNY! every inch of the eps is funny! starting from rinali's macho form, komui's destructive robot, allen being chased and all!
over-overall, its a MUST WATCH anime to anyone!
