Currently my computer has gone from bad to worse. Before my hard drive filled up and this whole problem began I have a perfectly functional machine running on Red Hat Linux with Windows XP VMware. Next thing I know I try to save a file and the computer tells me there is no room for the saved file on my hard drive. So I go to the store and by a massively larger hard drive because I was lucky enough to find it on sale. And while I was busy putting everything on the computer anyway, I decided to update it with SLED Linux instead of Red Hat. The VMware wouldn't work on the SLED for some reason, even though everything I read up about it said it should. So I turned the situation over to my mother (the resident computer expert) who tried for three days after work to get the VMware running. And for three days I had a perfectly functional SLED Linux computer, but unfortunately with not Windows, which cut me off from 40% of my programs. Which is where I left you on my last journal entry. Now the other day my mom tries again to get the VMware running, and after her breaking point of frustration she decides to put SUSE Linux on instead, which is very similar to SLED but she knows more about that version and thinks she can get the VMware running. But part of the way through installation we find that CD 4 of SUSE has a huge gash on it and won't play in my CD player. So I was left without a functional computer today until my mom comes home from work with a new copy of CD 4.
