The Meaning of Life, an Essay

Contemplations: "what is the meaning of life?"; Truthfully i don't know a general answer to this profoundly confussing question. However, i will give my oppinion based apon my personal findings, after hundreds of hours in contemplation. Personaly, the meaning of life means more than living a "good" life. Life encompasses so many more aspects than just living. To just simply exist would be a waste of a life. The the meaning that the western ideal, or rather American media and popular culture define for our generation is simply, live till you die and have the most fun you can in the mean time. Would this not fall under the catagory of waste? As earlier stated, there are so many different aspects to living than just having fun, or just working to life, or even shoping for the latest styles, (to look good). These are all selfish undertakings. In our current position, however, the culture in which we live leaves no room for those who do not push through, and for those without the will to live a full an encompasing holsom decent life. The dramatic decline in the people of our generation, who actually live, is astounding. Now that i've stated my thesis, i'll go on to the findings portion. I've found that the meaning of life is as different as our finger prints, for each person who undertakes the task of living. As we grow and mature, as we complete and make new goals, the meaning in life changes. When we make a contious deciton to be decent people, and to live a full and good life then will we, find the path, that we all uncontiously, have been trudging our whole lives. To sum up and make this a little easier to understand, i've come to the conclusion that everyone has a different path in life, and that life in itself has no meaning, but rather it is what you make of life that gives life meaning.
