The following is a conversation between an insurance adjustor and the insured driver who called to report a motor vehicle accident that had occurred earlier that day. The insured is on a cell phone. In the background, road noise, traffic whizzing by, and horns fading as they move off into the distance are clearly heard.
Adjustor: . . . it may just be a word versus word thing. We’ll see what the other party has to say and where the impacts are to both vehicles.
Insured: Okay.
Adjustor: So 9:45 on Friday. Um, come on. [speaking to computer] Okay.
Insured: Damn, I just missed my exit.
Adjustor: Oh.
Insured: Damn. [Increased sounds of road noise and honking in background]
Adjustor: Okay. So I have you scheduled for . . .
