i just went (with jared and aaron in tow.. well, sorta, jared drove) to put a deposit down on my new bird..
i will soon have a C.I.T.E.S. (Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species) appendix 1 animal..
what does that mean?.. some heavy moral responsiblities.. apendix 1 would place the Moluccan Cockatoo in the same catagory as the white tiger, more rare than the bald eagle, etc.. if i want to take Loki (the new name, i just can't handle "tex".. *smile*)to another state via airplane (or any other public transportation), i'd need a document from a certified vet.
it's going to change my daily habits, including tasks to do in the morning, in the evening.. eating better (because the cockatoo basically eats what you eat). i'm going to bird-prep the house this weekend, build a few perches, toys, and hopefully pick him up sunday night (if i can find a ride) or monday.. SHIT!, just remembered i've got badminton monday night.. :( wonder if shaun will let me borrow the car on sunday..
