I was trying to decide what to mix with my apple cranberry juice and found an old bottle of sloe gin in our liquor cupboard. This is surprisingly tasty. And probably dangerous, since it certainly doesn't taste like alcohol. But I figured I owed it to myself for making it through the Aeneid. Okay, skimming through the Aeneid. With plans to Sparknotes it before class in the morning. I'm such a bad English major. But I read the Iliad (twice) and the Odyssey. That's good enough, right? Because isn't Virgil kind of just fan-fic-ing Homer here?
