Kitty picture time...and that dog we got that I don't think I ever posted about...

We celebrated our kittens' birthday yesterday, because they were born a year ago around Memorial Day last year. I can't believe they're a year old already! We got them a crinkle tube to play in, I planted some cat grass that will hopefully sprout soon (so they don't have to chomp on the grass like little cows when they get to go outside), they got some special canned kitty food for a birthday treat, and they got to play outside for a little while. They're so spoiled. Here's the best recent photo I have of the three of them together. From left is Cupcake, Jasmine, and Hiro, in their favorite part of the house, our sunroom:

We also planted our garden yesterday. Kind of late, but we've been so crazy busy that it was the earliest we could get to it. And we don't really know what we're doing as far as gardening goes yet, anyway, so we'll be happy if anything comes up. Some of our neighbors have been giving us advice, and one gave us a few tomato plants, so at least we have a little head start there, and he said he'd dig up some raspberry bushes for us as well, once we decide where we'd like to plant them. It's nice living near such neighborly people - my parents were never really friendly with any of our neighbors, which I always thought was kind of sad.

And now, because I can, here are a few more recent kitty pics:

Sleepy Hiro

My baby. It's no secret that she's my favorite. She's such a cutie.

I love this picture, not gonna lie.

These two are usually such buddies...(note the curtains they're sleeping on that they so nicely decided would look better on the couch than over the window)

But sometimes Hiro likes to play a little too rough. This face is just begging for a lolcat caption....

Jasmine loves her kitty bed

And so does Robby, which is hilarious. Did I ever mention we got a dog, by the way? We adopted him from the Humane Society a few months ago. He's a six-year-old Beagle mix (though he seems pretty much all Beagle to us) and he's pretty cute most of the time. I'm just so much more of a cat person than a dog person, so he's mostly Andy's dog...although he does like to cuddle with me an awful lot. Anyway, he's the latest addition to our little menagerie :)
